Every once in awhile you hear, see or read something that makes you think ....Damn why isn't the News covering this story. I reflected on that for a minute and remembered that I had a blog. No matter how big or small, I had a voice and could do something.
While 99% of us are working to that comfort level to even start thinking of giving back, that 1% is actively doing it.
The project/movement is "I Live On Clay Street " authored by Timmy Grins, who recently relocated to Annapolis, Md some time back. The idea is a throwback when neighbors spent time outdoors, on the streets of their blocks, instead of behind locked doors and peeping out of window curtains.
The "Clay Street Supper Club" is a pot luck steered at regaining drug infested corners with community pride. How simple, breaking bread with your fellow residents discussing how it was and how it could be. Or is it really?
What if each neighborhood followed his lead? What if your Grandmother's house was as safe for your kids as it was for you growing up? I have known Grins now for some years, and can say this....If you have the passion and determination, he has an outlined plan for success. Hats off from the 41YO for being a leader.
